About the OLYMPIC GLORY MUSEUM

The Museum of Olympic Glory was solemnly opened on September 1, 1996, during the celebration of the 5th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The opening ceremony was attended by the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and the President of the International Olympic Committee Juan Antonio Samaranch.

The main objective of the museum is  – to promote healthy lifestyles among the younger generation, and the preparation of future Olympians, for example, the Uzbek athletes who won medals at various competitions. The younger generation has a sense of pride, responsibility and a desire to glorify their country with their own sports victories, and the demonstration of medals won by our athletes arouses the feeling of love for the Motherland.
